Lulu's is a gem in the heart of South Grand! The staff was upbeat and friendly, the food was fresh and quick, and the atmosphere was chill. I'll definitely be going back-in fact tomorrow evening with a friend!

Eaten here and at the food truck a couple of times. Fresh, tasty and healthy food! LOVE IT! can't wait to come back again and visit the truck!
(5)Ryan B.
Very fun and creative menu. I had a hard time choosing. My jack fruit BBQ was delicious. Wishing they had a Lulus in San Diego.
(4)Sean F.
A great vegetarian option in the city. More filling than many health food oriented vegetarian restaurants. I always leave full and happy. Ask if they have kombucha on tap and if they do get it.
(5)Leah K.
Upon my first visit, I was extremely disappointed with myself upon hearing this place has been open for two years. I had been missing out for far too long! This little cafe is amazing. The food is delicious and affordable for the quality and portion sizes. I wish I could give it six stars. Side note: It is hard to spot, as I had driven by it dozens of times without noticing it :(
(5)Seth K.
Wow. I am very much not a vegan...went with a coworker who is. The staff was helpful and friendly, atmosphere comfortable and relaxed. The food and drink was interesting and very very good. Looking forward to my next return trip to St. Louis. The Buffalo Cauliflower reminded me of the Gobi 65 I have enjoyed while in India.

I don't know how I haven't written a review on this place yet... Let me preface this with I AM A CARNIVORE. I eat meat pretty much every meal of every day. So I was a little skeptical to try a vegetarian restaurant. That being said, this place blew me out of the water! The Buffalo Cauliflower Bites legitimately taste like you're eating wings. I always thought that was something fitness freaks said to make the rest of us feel bad about ourselves, but they really do. I always get the Buffalo Cauliflower Wrap as well. It's extremely filling (and I'm usually a clean plate club kind of girl) so I always have leftovers to bring home. The tater tots with the dipping sauce are delicious as well. This place has definitely become one of me and my husband's favorite restaurants (who is also a carnivore). Definitely worth trying!
(5)Sean P.
I am not vegan or even vegetarian but I actually really enjoyed my food. The only reason I didn't give 4 stars was due to the food ordering process, walking up to the counter to order just feels a bit too fast food (I get the trying to stick to food truck feel) but it just took too long with the line and seemed too many customers were as confused as us by the ordering process. Again, the food was great, black bean burger, buffalo cauliflower yum.....
(3)Alexis S.
This is my new favorite restaurant. I have eaten there twice, the first time I had the Buffalo veggieburger, and the second time I had the lulus tacos and tater tots. Everything is incredibly delicious and guilt free. Even if you're not vegan, you will like this place!
(5)Chloé H.
I finally got the chance to try Lulu's since they opened up on Grand (my friends kept telling me to try it). Rarely do restaurants live up to the hype that I hear so I always try to go in with not very high expectations-- but this place blew me away! Inside is very clean and well-kept. I'm not even Vegan but all of the menu items looked so delicious I didn't even know what to choose. I ended up going with the BBQ Jack and I was in heaven. I can't wait to come back to keep trying other menu items. I feel like lots of Vegan restaurants have kind of pretentious employees, but everyone here was extremely friendly and down-to-earth. The flavors are very delicious and exciting and I love this place. Will definitely make it one of my regular places.
(5)Lauren C.
Everything is vegan. Score!!! The cauliflower "hot wings" are frickin amazing. The ranch was pretty epic too. I recommend getting it on everything.
(5)Morris R.
Cool, casual, touch hipster place but no pretension. I got the protein quinoa bowl and everything was amazingly fresh, bright, delicious! The spicy sauce was super spicy, the marinated tofu perfectly flavorful. I could eat like that every day. My date got the sweet potato falafel and it was not so great. If you like crispy chickpea falafel, this is nothing like it. It's just like eating a bunch of mild, mashed sweet potato. It's not very crispy, not flavorful. I didn't care for that dish. But I love their menu items, lots of variety, everything seems high quality, the price is unbelievably cheap for what you get, the place is clean and the staff are friendly and warm. I would love to go here daily.
(5)Meagan M.
Love it! Cauliflower bites and buffalo blue burger are my favorites. Sometimes i think the flavors could be kicked up a bit, (cauliflower po' boy, i'm looking at you!) The peanut stew...liked it more the next day as a left over, not sure how that happened! Patio is really nice, especially since its off the street/sidewalk a bit. Local beers, teas, sweets. Great stuff and EVERYTHING is vegan, which is awesome, don't tell your carnivorous friends, I actually had to argue a little with a friend when they insisted that something had to have egg/milk!
(5)L C.
Wow, what a gem this place is! On my first visit I ordered their fried cauliflower bites (with buffalo sauce on the side) and Lulu's tacos. It was all so delicious that I nearly had an out-of-body experience. It's not only the best vegan restaurant food I've ever eaten, it's the best restaurant food I've EVER eaten, period. I love this place!
(5)Michael S.
Accidentally got on I-55 instead of I-57 on our way to Memphis. That mistake cost us an hour of travel time but sent us through St. Louis where we happened upon Lulu's. That was lucky. This place was super. Great outdoor space. Friendly staff. And best of all, really great food! Loved the sweet potato falafel and the black bean burger was among the best I've ever had in my 26 years as a vegetarian/vegan. The buffalo cauliflower bites are a MUST. A fortuitous wrong turn indeed!
(5)Kimberly W.
What an amazing gem for South Grand! I'm so stoked Lulu's is a brick and mortar spot now, since I have terrible luck tracking down food trucks. And the best part is I can walk here from my house! The interior itself isn't anything fancy, but they have an adorable patio with tons of tables and I will be so sad when it gets too cold to sit out there. I'll be honest, I was a little hesitant on the whole vegan thing. Cheese is in my top 5 favorite food groups after all. But holy crap does this food not disappoint. To date I've had the sweet potato burger (twice), the falafel, and the Buddha Bowl, which may very well be one of my new favorite things ever. It's all SO. FREAKING.GOOD. Fresh, full of flavor, good portions and you don't feel all heavy and gross after you eat! Perfect lunch spot but also great for dinner (and then you can walk a few doors down and get gelato! win!)
(5)Emma F.
If you're vegan, this is the place for you! Otherwise, it's a lot of cauliflower and sweet potatoes cooked in different ways with different sauces. It was okay. The tater tots were my favorite thing. I also ordered the buffalo cauliflower bites which I thought were kind of gross. The staff is super nice and I love the atmosphere. It's worth a try, I recommend everyone at least stop in once.
(3)Tanica R.
So YERMMY! I've been wanting to try out lulu's ever since I found out they served vegetarian food! It's a cute corner brickstone on Grand. It's simple, I love it! I got the sweet potato falafel and Tator tots...the bomb diggity! Hubby got the sweet potato black bean burger and kale salad...he loved it! With all that we got, it only cost us $19! Say whaaa?! AND it didn't take long to cook. Healthy, tasty...our new go-to place! Oh and the customer service was great! They're so sweet and you can tell they appreciate your business! Awesome!
(5)Alyse V.
Lulu's is basically perfect. Every item on the menu is delicious, the owners are the sweetest people on the planet, the atmosphere and neighborhood are great... I'm an enthusiastic meat eater and still go to Lulu's at least once a week. It's the most tasty, hearty, inexpensive veg food you'll ever eat.
(5)Kevin G.
I love Lulu's but for god sakes if you're going to have a phone & take to-go orders PLEASE make sure your 1 cordless phone is charged/working! This is the second time I've tried to place a carry out order, phone kept going straight to voicemail, drove up there expecting to find them packed... And when I get there are only a few people in there and the phone is sitting on the counter dead! Rrr
(3)Megan R.
I was so thrilled when the food truck Lulu's said they were opening a restaurant because it was my favorite food truck in STL. Their food is great and the atmosphere is typical for this neighborhood (fairly hipster, but not unwelcoming). There is a lovely patio as well. But mostly the food. So. Good.
(5)Lydia S.
Delicious food, fresh ingredients, bright and clean atmosphere, great patio, and friendly staff. I've gone twice already! This is exactly what tower grove needed!
(5)Sarah M.
Awesome vegan eatery. Great place to take meat eaters, the buffalo cauliflower wrap seriously channels the buffalo chicken appeal.
(5)Lindsay J.
Highly recommend the sweet potato falafel and buffalo cauliflower. The udon noodle bowl was a big hit with my toddler and my teenage step-brother. I think it's a little pricey, but we took out-of-town guests and it was a perfect choice.
(4)Rise H.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. So glad to have this place in the neighborhood. The food is 100% plant based buffalo cauliflower wrap was excellent ! Can't wait to try more
(5)Rachael B.
The only bad thing I have to say is that I am ashamed that I haven't discovered this restaurant sooner. Everything I ate was truly delicious. I had to keep re-reading the information on the menu to verify that there was no dairy involved in the tzatziki on the falafel or the spicy chipotle dipping sauce for the tater tots. I don't know how they do it, but I am obsessed. The man at the counter told me the sweet potato falafel would change my life and he may have been right. Great portions, great prices, friendly staff, cute spot, and it's in my favorite restaurant neighborhood? I'll definitely be back again and again.
(5)Emily S.
Tasty, savory, vegan food, cool art work, and friendly staff. I enjoyed the Quinoa bowl, especially the paring butternut squash of with the walnut pesto sauce. I invited 4 non-vegans and they really liked the falafel wrap, tater tots and chili. The falafel wrap smelled and look amazing. It looked like a gyro. I appreciate that they have a few gluten free options. Non-vegans liked the ranch sauce but felt so so on the butternut squash sauce. Unfortunately by 8:00 they had sold out of the special cupcakes so if you want dessert you should arrive earlier. I will definitely go back and bring more friends to try it. All staff members had a lot of enthusiasm for the food and enjoyed talking to all of the customers. It's nice to go to a restaurant where they're excited to welcome new people.
(4)Stephanie H.
Yum! Delicious food and super friendly staff! The Buffalo Cauliflower Wrap is amazing (as are the bites). Didn't love the tots (kind of smoky) but I think I'm just not a tater tot fan in general. My friends enjoyed them. Large servings! Food came out fast. Everyone was very pleased. Can't wait to go back!
(4)I Know W.
Best addition to S. Grand in a lot of years. The inside is clean, inviting, and peaceful. The menu is priced well. The food was excellent.
(4)Tasha J.
Absolutely fantastic food, friendly staff, neat place for a date. I had the buffalo burger and it was out of this world.
(5)Darren R.
I'm 2 for 2 with vegan spots in St. Louis because this is another awesome place! I love fried cauliflower. The buffalo cauliflower here is best I've had yet! And the chili was a great side. My yam burger was good as well
(5)Erin G.
I crave the "philly" cheese steak every day even though the vegan cheese is not that great. Totally weird.
(5)Kristen Camille G.
Last night I placed an order to eat in, settled in to read my book.. and then my food was brought to me in a to go box. It was totally weird. They didn't say why (maybe I smelled bad?) and the people who ordered after me got their food on a plate. Anyway other than that, food and service were great as always!
(5)Diana C.
This is for all the celiacs out there who are interested in eating at lulu's. I initially wanted to go to Lulu's because I was very excited to see "gf" or "can be made to order gluten free" on their menu. However, the waitstaff (or owners- not sure who I was talking to) was not at all aware of gluten free protocol. First of all, they claim that the superfood bowl (made with udon noodles) can be made gluten free, but when we asked, they said they could just take out the udon noodles.... pretty sure that was the entire meal. We also asked for another rice/tofu type bowl, that again claimed could be made gluten free, but they said it couldn't because the teriyaki sauce had gluten in it. Not sure why they would label it gluten free if it cannot be made gluten free (also, as a side note it is SUPER easy and basically the same price to buy gluten free teriykai and soy sauce). So, my mom and I decided to not get those two "made to order" entrees, but rather stick to the strictly labeled "GF" entrees. One of those included the tater tots. After we placed our order at the counter and sat down, I decided to go back and double check about the tater tots, since I was skeptical of the restaurants understanding of gluten free foods. Thank goodness I did, because I found out that the tater tots are NOT fried in a dedicated fryer. The staff was a bit defensive and said they have a disclaimer on their menu that this is not a dedicated GF kitchen. However, it is COMPLETELY false and misleading to label an item that is fried in a fryer with other breaded products as gluten free. it is NOT gluten free. I gave a rating of 3 stars because the staff did apologize and bring out the avocado boat instead of the tater tots. Also, the other food that we did eat was really delicious. However, as someone with celiac, these types of restaurants really irk me and make it hard for people with celiac to be able to eat out/trust what they are eating is gluten free. Just a heads up for everyone else out there who can't eat gluten for medical reasons.

I'm going to give this place a non biased, non vegan's review. First you should know that there is no meat on the menu. If you want that this is NOT your place. I am NOT a Vegan nor Vegetarian. However my fiancee' is and life is always better when you share, right? So often we're scrounging for restaurants we will both be satisfied at. First con; How the Hell can you FIND this place?? It seems like all the New restaurants (Treehouse included) have these small cool typeface, INVISIBLE signs. It's impossible to see it while driving down S. Grand when there is a base thumping 1980 cadillac tailgating you and a dazed hipster couple wandering onto the street n front of you. So I'll make it easy:. Look for ORPHEUM Cleaners with the old Red and White colors. Orpheum has been there at least since the late 60s, so you can't miss.it . Lulu's is on the same corner across the side street. Upon walking into the restaurant it was clean and basic. Not much decor, but some good looking original Printmaking on the wall I want to go back and check out. No one greets me. WAAaaaay Down is a counter with some people hanging out talking. No one says anything and I get the idea I just crashed a party at someone's house. After some wandering around and seeing a person take food out to the patio I figure out I order at the counter. Once the hipsters finish their conversation at said counter and I actually get to TALK to the staff the experience begins to improve. I grab 2 menus. The guy informs me that you order, pay at the counter and food will be brought out. We had a good conversation about beer (They have a few in bottles, and the new 4 Hands Single Speed is FANTASTIC). I like places that talk to you like a person rather than a customer. This is that place! Now I appreciate the time he takes with each order and recommendations. My Fiancee' gets the Orange Cauliflower Stir Fry and I the Spring Roll Burrito. Also grabbed a beer to sip while waiting. The Patio outside is lovely. It's quiet and is on the side street OFF South Grand. Personally I LOATH dining outside right on S. Grand. It's noisy with constant ambulances, cop cars, thumping music, and passersby... It stinks from the wall of constant car exhaust. Plus there is always the danger of somebody we used to know walking by and spoiling my dinner by stopping to "Chat" or toss a dirty look in my direction. But the Patio at Lulu's is quite secluded and green. You won't be bothered even though it's just a few yards off S. Grand. The food came our pretty fast! But it was FRESH! The server was really nice as was the order counter guy and they genuinely wanted to hear our thoughts on the dishes. They grow most if not all of the Greens on site. My Spring Roll Burrito was AMAZING!! Crispy (lightly breaded) fried cauliflower and a SAVORY asian sauce that was both spicy and sweet. NOT TOO SPICY. It was Hearty even for a non vegan has some really interesting flavor combinations. I didn't get the impression that it was just a bland fiber bomb of weedy junk someone tossed on a plate. Thought and Care went into both of our dishes and the taste proved it. Juliana's was just as delish. We both ate every single bite and were both full. I like the Pay & Go service. So many restaurants on South Grand have INEFFICIENT, ARROGANT waiters like the HORRID Cafe Natasha I reviewed last year that I'd rather NOT deal with them. I actually did toss a couple bucks in the Tip Jar at the counter. It was CHEAP! For the two entrees and craft beer plus Billy Goat chips side I paid about $27.00. We will be back again and again this summer as we want to try all of the menu items before they change over. I would have given this place 5 Stars easily if upon entering I didn't have to feel like I was wandering around in somebody's living room for 5-10 minutes. I'm sure they will get a handle on this shortly as the staff are truly friendly and care about your dining experience. The Food is STELLAR no matter if you eat meat or not....and let's face it there are TONS of places to get a burger in StL so just look at this as another Great Ethnic restaurant to try rather than some Vegan-Eat-Straw-Guilt dining spot. It's cheap and you won't be disappointed!
(4)Stephanie M.
I'm a mostly vegan (it's cheese, the cheese does me in every time. A visit to Whole Foods is evil - f'ing cheese pushers, dirty rotten cheese pushers). Anyway, enough about my disgusting cheese addiction. I had some veggie friends visiting from California, and they really wanted to go to the Tree House because they had read about it on yelp, and unfortunately Tree House is closed on Mondays. I had to explain to them "it's St. Louis, St. Louis is weird like that, they picked Monday as their off day, let's go to this other place that's right by them and check it out". I got the Buffalo Cauliflower Wrap with a side kale salad, and the house iced tea. The entire order was perfection. Sincerely, the dressing they used for the kale salad had just a little bit of spice, it was tangy, and I would have licked it off the table had it dripped there. The Buffalo Cauliflower Wrap was so good, just so wow..... I will say that I was entirely too pleased when my California friends that had to fly away that day gave me their leftovers (big portions). To sum up, this place is awesome, eat here, give them your money because it's friggin' delicious awesome food.
(5)Jas M.
Friendly and hipster staff. Fabulous and creative food. Had the sweet potato falafel, good portion and good price point. Yummy. Reminded me of San Francisco.
(5)Rebecca B.
St. Louis' first all vegan (non-raw) restaurant!!! YAY!!! The buffalo cauliflower bites are out of this world! I love the kale salad. I wasn't a huge fan of the burger though. I like more meaty seitan / match meat style burgers. The black bean burger at LuLu's was really just like a bean patty, kinda mushy. Maybe some people prefer that to gluten, but it's not my thing. I can't wait to go back and try more stuff. I am so happy to have LuLu's on Grand!!!!!
(5)Jim T.
Fantastic as usual. This vegan restaurant has many great choices for my omnivore appetite. So good that you don't even realize it's healthy!!! I'm coming back to try the other twelve things that I wanted on the menu.
(5)Swati C.
I had heard a lot of good things about this place but was honestly a little disappointed. The menu is diverse, which is nice, but the food was pretty average. I
(3)Nancy A.
The spring roll bowl is so tasty I can't bring myself to try anything else! I will though.
(5)Zach O.
Sweet potato falafel is phenomenal! Wonderful vegan food was much needed on south Grand.
(5)Michelle I.
Most of their dishes are really good! Especially anything with the cauliflower. I don't love the sandwich bread (I'm from NJ where bread usually has more of a crust), but the pretzel rolls and other dishes are all amazing. And the tater tots! Get there early for cupcakes, or else they'll be gone!
(4)Courtney J.
I am an omnivore, so I was a bit surprised to find that this was a Vegan restaurant after I sat down and took a look at the menu. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that it was pretty tasty! I had the Buddha bowl which was tofu and vegetables with a peanut sauce and udon noodles. It was spicier than I thought it would be, but also very fresh and filling. I also ordered the tots, which again were very spicy, but a great different take on tots. I will definitely take my Vegan/Vegetarian out-of-towners here, but I'm not sure if it will make it into my regular rotation.
(3)Jennifer M.
LOVED, LOVED it here!! Lulu was super kind and engaging about my many questions. So happy they are doing well and cannot wait to come back!
(5)Brittany H.
The first time I tried Lulu's was from their food truck at a Tower Grove Park event. I bought the sweet potato tacos with avocado and it was absolutely delicious! A few weeks later, I had dinner at their restaurant, got the falafel and tator tots and I wanted to order more! The customer service was great, the wait wasn't too long, the food was fresh, and it is in a great location. Now I have a place to take my vegetarian and vegan friends. Yay!
(5)Savannah R.
The food is wonderful but THE CUPCAKES, YOU GUYS. THEY ARE SO GOOD. I wish the restaurant had more variety for drinks and offered sit down service but the food is good and the staff is so pleasant. GO GET A CUPCAKE.
(4)Jeanne M.
Seriously made my night! I stopped in while traveling through the state. I ordered the Flatbread, mac and cheese, and buffalo cauliflower. Probably the best buffalo cauliflower I've had so far. I'm not sure if the sauce is made in house but it was perfect. The Flatbread was delicious, as well. The mac and cheese kept me from giving this place 5 stars, though. It was just okay. Not bad but it was a bit bland. Overall, this place was great!
(4)Kristi C.
Delicious, I want some nachos just thinking about it. They were very nice and cool and the food truck is really cool!
(5)Chris G.
haven't tried everything on the menu yet but from what my wife and I have had thus far and from the looks of the rest of the menu, Lulu's is gonna be in our weekly rotation for sure.
(5)Scott P.
all vegan, all good. one of my favorite aspects of Lulu's is that i can stuff my gut and not feel like death afterwards. menu is pretty awesome, rotating items, seasonal , and the standard menu. i have caught their food truck in the AM for some amazing breakfast tacos. lately i just continue to order the spring roll wrap as it is just awesome. the avocado and quinoa is also pretty great. and somehow they just nailed a sweet potato falafel. sauces have a bit of spice to them. i would be shocked if any vegans or veggies did not swoon of this place. Prices are pretty fair too. do not pass this place up.
(5)Christine W.
A solid four stars! This is a great restaurant with an awesome concept and vision, a nice, laid-back atmosphere, and delicious food! I came here for a quick dinner with my husband recently. We had just left the gym and neither of us were feeling up to making dinner (and no leftovers to fall back on). We had the buffalo cauliflower bites as an appetizer. It was really really delicious! It did get a tad bit spicy for me towards the end of finishing them off, but they were so tasty that I didn't really care. As for the entree, I had the winter quinoa wrap ($8.95). It had quinoa, shredded carrot, walnut parmesan, cranberries, kale, roasted butternut squash, cauliflower and caramelized leeks with kale pesto sauce wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. Whew! I had to look that up on their website because I couldn't remember all the ingredients in there. The combination of flavors that the wrap had was incredibly complex and interesting and delicious. I loved the wrap! My husband had the Buffalo Blue Burger ($6.95), which he enjoyed as well, although he did say that he liked my quinoa wrap slightly better because of the unique and refreshing combination of flavors in mine. In summary, the food was great, the prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the service was prompt and friendly. The only thing to take note of is the street parking, but that goes for pretty much every place on south Grand. So go try them out, even if you're not a vegetarian... you'll most likely still find something delicious and filling!
(4)Rebekah N.
I am not 100% vegetarian but wow! This place blew me away! First off, the atmosphere is laid-back, casual, trendy and clean.... loved it. We came in for lunch and it felt like the ideal lunch spot. We started off with the buffalo cauliflower bites.... fried pieces of cauliflower in buffalo sauce... wow... delicious!!! I could have made a meal just out of these... but my lunch was even better! I had the Sweet Potato Falafel ($6.95)... their version of the Mediterranean sandwich. House made crispy sweet potato fritters, cucumber, red onion, fresh greens and tzaziki sauce in a warm pita..... the serving was HUGE.... I ate the second half for dinner. The falafel was amazing... nice fried outside with sweet and savory center. The Tzaziki sauce was delicious and the pita was filled with gorgeous fresh greens, cucumbers, red onions. It was way better than expected! We also tried the Kombucha on tap... this was a green tea version with Blackberry and Elderberry... best Kombucha I've ever had. So fresh, so fizzy, delightful and refreshing flavors. I'd go back just for this! They ALSO sell Kuva coffee.... truly, best coffee in St. Louis. I had their iced coffee with almond milk. The coffee itself was brewed too light for my taste but I still enjoyed it. Definitely my new favorite lunch place... and if I could eat this good everyday, I'd consider going 100% vegetarian! ;-)
(5)Ellie Y.
Lulu's is absolutely phenomenal. One of my very favorite restaurants. I have never had anything from there that I did not love. Some favorites: Buddha bowl, sweet potato falafel, and spring roll burrito. It's a wonderful experience for a vegetarian to have so many delicious options. The staff is friendly and service is fast. I was a big fan of the food truck first, and now am so happy I can get it whenever I want! Even my non-vegetarian friends love it!
(5)Tigra C.
Shucky-ducky! During an unplanned trip back home, I decided to give them another try, and boy, oh boy, did they get it right this time. I got the Buffalo Cauliflower Bites again. Still yummy! Cajun Tater Tots: I ordered these again, but this time I requested extra cajun seasoning and it was perfect! Now I know how to order mine from now on. (If you're a fan of spice, don't forget to ask for the spicy chipotle dipping sauce.) Kale Salad: I got a small kale salad (you have the option of small or large). It's a simple salad, with cranberries and shredded carrots, but it is really tasty and satisfying. I don't know how they marinade their kale, but I could eat it without any dressing. It's that good. However, get the dressing. It's delicious. Buffalo Cauliflower Wrap: Yes. I got the bites AND a wrap. Chock it to buffalo fever. At first I wasn't impressed with the wrap. Then I bit into the right part and from there it was all good. I think I'll order this with extra buffalo sauce next time. Customer service was excellent this go 'round. We had a large order (my non-vegan family LOVES this place!) with many modifications and extras (yes, we're THAT party). However, I never felt as if I was annoying them, and they were extremely patient, kind, and thorough. He double-checked and triple-checked my order. I love that! One of the owners even remembered me and apologized again for my past experience. That meant a lot to me. FYI - they have a loyalty program (a punch card), so be sure to get one. I'm so happy that I gave them another chance. I can't wait to go back home again for more LuLu's.
(5)Carter S.
Any restaurant that has the slogan "Eat like you give a Yam" is okay in my book. We love this place for so many more reasons though. Who knew a black bean and sweet potato burger could taste so good?! Definitely recommend the kale salad as well. Only complaint is that it is a little pricey but a must stop if your on south grand.
(5)Kristina S.
Food was exceptional and the service was very friendly and helpful! We shared the sweet potato falafel as well as the BBQ jack which is a jackfruit that actually has the texture and consistency of pulled pork. We had never had jackfruit before and the cashier was more than happy to explain it to us as well as the way it was prepared. The sweet potato falafel was very good as well. Similar to traditional falafel made from chick peas, but a bit sweeter and not quite as crisp, but very fresh and delicious! Can't wait to go back and try something else!
(5)rachel n.
We LOVED this place. Delicious vegan food, cool atmosphere and super friendly staff. If we lived in Saint Louis, this would be a regular spot! Dog friendly patio, too.
(5)Linda L.
I appreciate their effort in providing flavorful food to a larger audience who may shy away at the thought of a vegan meal. I myself am not vegan, but definitely want something healthy that isn't going to kill me (high standards yes, I know). The meals are creative yet down to earth. For example, they will deep fry cauliflower and provide a delicious dipping sauce to help you forget that you are eating cauliflower and not the usual winged Buffalo or a Frenched fry. Try the Tator Tots and Lulus Tacos!

Wow. What a great place. Price, customer service and taste all 5 stars. We had the sweet potato falafel and the BBQ Jack with a side of tots. The staff was very friendly in describing the menu items we had questions about. The service was quick and the food was delicious. The sweet potato falafel was very good. Texture is different than a falafel but flavors were wonderful. The tots are crisp and tasty. The BBQ jack was awesome. I have been told many times about black bean burgers or tofu items tasting just like their meat counterpart cut really have not experienced that. With the jackfruit substituting for pork, I can honestly say from look, texture and taste that I could have been served this as s pulled pork sandwich and never know the difference. We will be back.

Yet again, another 5 stars from me! I decided to try something different that I haven't seen many reviews on...and typically with restaurants I stick to what I know, but I love everything from Lulu's so I gave the spring roll burrito a try! It's filled with cauliflower, carrots, kale, peanuts, cucumbers, and a little bit of onion here and there with a peanut sauce. It was SO amazing and I have no clue how I managed to eat the whole thing! I also ordered the usual tater tots on the side. You really can't go wrong here. Vegan or non vegan, you will find something amazing here! Ps their desserts from a local bakery are delicious! I will always support lulus. ALSO, super friendly staff, clean restaurant, and quick food time!

Finally a reasonably priced vegan friendly joint on the south side. Being a full blown omnivore, I appreciate when vegan dishes give you the same level of deliciousness as feasting on meat & dairy. Compared to the other competing vegetarian spots in the area the portions are larger and the price lower. I started out with the (chilled) quinoa, avocado, black bean, sweet potato, chipotle bowl. It was fantastic and fresh and full of life. I had the buffalo chicken cauliflower wrap with crunchy carrots and it was awesome! Great if you need your chicken wing fix. I could not finish it and maybe will ask for less buffalo sauce next time. I want to try everything!

Delicious, fresh food with good spicing. Reasonable pricing for the amount of food you get. Clean establishment with friendly staff. Unique and unexpected surprise in St. Louis.

We really enjoyed our meal here, I'm not sure if its quite a 5 star but I'd come back. I think if you're really into this type of food and given its limited availability in town would probably be a 5 star but being that I'm not vegan and I compare it to any other establishment I'd say its a solid 4 which is good! Def give them a try, its a cute little place with great food.

I've been hearing a lot about this place and was finally able to give it a try the other day. I really like their story, which you can read all about on their website, and that they are all about eating fresh, local, and sustainable food. Lulu's is doing all of this at an affordable price for the public. I was actually surprised that all of their menu items were under $10. With the ingredients being fresh and local, I was expecting to pay at least $10 for a menu item. My wife and I ended up ordering the Buffalo Cauliflower Bites for an appetizer and the Buffalo Blue Burger with a side of tater tots and Winter Quinoa Wrap for entrees. The cauliflower bites reminded me of an buffalo chicken appetizer, I think that it was supposed to. It was so good. I liked how the cauliflower had an outer fried shell with perfectly cooked cauliflower inside. The burger was good, but I've had black bean burgers before and this one didn't stand out as much as I expected it to. I didn't think the tater tots were anything too special either. I did really enjoy the quinoa wrap though. It was just exploding with flavors! I think the star of the meal was the cauliflower bites though. I think that will be a staple every time we go. TL;DR - Great affordable local vegan restaurant. Get the cauliflower bites. I will definitely be back!

Pretty awesome place. Great location, awesome menu, and good people. Its a vegan eatery so if you're not up for vegan food then heads up. My wife and I went and both loved everything we had. Its got some seating inside and out. The only downside was the price although I don't think the price was too crazy compared to its non-vegan equivalents and vegan food always costs more money.

For those of you make a face when you mention he word vegetarian, have yet to dine @ Lulu's Local Eatery on S. Grand in the city. I had a bbq Jack sandwich, made from jackfruit, it was delicious & the best bbq I've eaten in along time. Sooooooo try it, you'll like. The sweet potato falafel is hands down their signature dish, gotta try that too with a side if tots.
(5)DeAnne P.
Lulu's uses a spicy sriracha like sauce so ask for any sauce on the side for the kids. The tots had a pepper to them. The cauliflower nuggets were a-ok while the avocado quinoa boat was kicking some decent forkfuls out as well. A cold Urban Chestnut IPA was a nice compliment to enjoy on the patio, which is fenced in. With green and sanitary practices, this place boasts an "A" rating with the county food department.

So good. All I can really say. I'd read about jack fruit, but had never really gotten the opportunity to try it yet. I saw they had a jack fruit BANH MI and I had to try it. Awesome. I will be back and frequently.
(5)Chris G.
Kudo's to Lulu's for listening to their customer and changing policy. Within a few weeks of yelping my last review, they added phone ordering to their services. Service and food have continued to live up to the 5 stars!

The sliders and the quinoa bowl were delicious. The enchiladas were not good, they tasted like rotten yogurt.

LuLu's is so dope because it's 100% Vegan and it's a restaurant where they flip the "American" diet and make it all plant based ranging from a variety of burgers, bowls, and wraps. They also change their menu every season, which to me is very interesting because it allows you to experience something new after a while. Though I've only just started going this summer, I haven't had the chance to experience anything else. LuLu's has very good buffalo cauliflower (their take on buffalo wings), sweet potato burgers, an amazing jack fruit pulled pork sandwich with Pappy's BBQ sauce, sweet potato falafel (with a distinct, mint flavored homemade tzatziki), black bean bowl, etc. Lulus is the place to go if you want to try Vegan food, but still have savory, meat like texture, hearty meals. They use pretzel buns for there sandwiches too, which is awesome because most pretzel buns in the stores, use milk and eggs in their dough. But other than the food, the establishment is pretty laid back. All of the employees are pretty down to Earth and friendly. They have a punch card system where if you spend $7 you get a punch. Most times I get a few punches if me and my gf order together. They also have an assortment of vegan desserts from third party companies. I was given two raw cookies by the manager (for free) when I inquired about them. He thought I wanted to buy them but I was just asking about them and he said "it's on us" which was pretty cool, so I recommend this place to any and everyone. Very dope place

Yum, and yum some more! I tried the jackfruit banh mi this time, and enjoyed it as much as I did the Buddha bowl and the sweet potato falafel I tried on earlier visits. The staff is friendly, the food delicious, and the pleasure of eating 100% plant-based can't be beat! I'll go again, soon!
(5)Lacey C.
I must say it was delicious!!! I had a sample of the buffalo cauliflower and it had exploding flavors. I had the black bean bowl and the sweet potatoes added a nice touch!! If you are in the area it is a must try!!!

Located on the corner of Wyoming and the lively South Grand Ave is this gem of an establishment. They serve local, vegan food through sustainable business practices. The seating consists of high top barstools, a dozen or so tables, and outside patio options during the warmer months. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and sincere. He handed us a menu boasting numerous options of culinary excellence. The menu changes with the seasons and makes use of the region's produce. Lulu offers beer and wine options to wet your whistle, as well as a self serve water container. The food was all incredibly delicious. Do not be turned away from their vegan options, they are well executed, tasty, and filling. The servings are generous. I recommend the butternut squash flatbread. I will most certainly return to try other dishes from their kitchen.

Lulu's is 1. amazing food 2. great service 3. a cute atmosphere 1. The food is all plant-based, AKA vegan, but is delicious for both vegans and carnivores alike. I'm vegan and go here with my meat-eating friends and they love it just as much as I do. The cauliflower bites, the quinoa bowl, the tater tots, and in the winter the pumpkin pesto bowl... are some of my favorites. I get Lulu's at least once or twice a week. 2. Speaking of going once or twice a week, when I walk in I am greeted by "Hey, Katie!". It feels good to go to a place where people know you and treat you like a friend. The entire staff is very welcoming and helpful. Super nice people, and the owners are awesome, always ensuring a great experience. 3. The inside of Lulu's is casual and creative. Changing art on the walls, moss on a wooden canvas, and good lighting. The patio has enough seating for just a one on one date or a group of friends. Plants surround the patio and there are pretty lights strung above. Love Lulu's and recommend to anyone!

We are visiting STL as tourists and went to the botanical garden, so we stopped here for dinner afterwards. We were very excited to see that Lulus is completely vegan! It's such a refreshing change to go out to dinner and have lots of veggie options! The atmosphere was laid back, and the reggae music playing made me feel peaceful. I ordered the jack BBQ and it was very good. I had never tried jackfruit before, and I was excited to try it. My husband had the Spring roll burrito and he really liked it. We both had glasses of Bushelhead cider which we really enjoyed it. Our 4-year-old was less enthusiastic. He was worn out from walking the garden, and is going through a picky phase where he decides by looking at a food whether he likes it or not. He didn't touch his taco, although I thought it looked great! We liked Lulus so much that we might come back tomorrow after we visit the Arch!

Great outdoor patio, love the beer and wine selection, but looking forward to the draft selection soon... Loved the cauliflower bites like everyone else on here... Recently had the buffalo blue burger which was excellent!!looking forward to going back to have some of the bowls... Miss having a wAit staff but I get it... I'm just old fashioned and might want another drink while I am outside... Guess I should just skip the 2nd request for15%, 20% or 25?... Tip. Yeah my catholic guilt not there's... : )

Very impressed. Food was delicious, people were friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Best tater tots I've had in a long time. They were perfectly crispy. The hummus was tasty, different from others I've had in the past. And finally the chipotle black been wrap was to die for. Perfect mix of savory with a little touch of sweetness from the sweet potatoes. Highly recommend Lulu's I will definitely be going back next time I'm in town.

Absolutely fantastic food! I could not be more pleased with Lulu's. Although I had previously tried Lulu's food truck, I only started going to the location on Grand a couple months ago - and I wish I had started going sooner! The food is top-notch. Like many others, I recommend the Buffalo Cauliflower Wrap. Just the right amount of spice and crunch. I normally am not a fan of tater tots, but the tots here are nearly perfect - not greasy, light in texture. Even my dedicated meat-eating father was wholly impressed with Lulu's - the food is so filling and delicious that it doesn't "feel" like a vegetarian place. There's so much good stuff on the menu, that I always have a hard time deciding whether to try something new or fall back on one of my favorites. I've never had something here that I didn't think was top-notch. The veggie burgers, the spring roll wrap, the salads - all A+ options. The staff is great as well - every time I've been, the staff has been unfailingly polite, efficient, and friendly. The location is convenient, clean, and has a lot of available parking. I love this place! I could eat here every day.

This is my go to place to grab something to eat whenever I want something quick and inexpensive. And don't be scared to come here if you're not a vegan! I forget Lulu's is a completely vegan restaurant half the time. I've enjoyed everything I've had from their menu; I've been here a lot. I'd recommend trying one of their black bean burgers - they're HUGE. Those things weigh at least a quarter pound. If it's your first time dining at Lulu's, don't sit down at a table and expect to be waited on. I've seen a bunch of people who are obviously new here that come in not knowing that it's counter service. The atmosphere here is really laid back. Good music, cool staff. I love eating on their patio when the weather is nice. You get to see all the stuff they grow themselves, too! The artwork inside is questionable, though. All of the dishes here are plastic so don't be expecting anything too fancy here. As far as the food truck goes, I've only had food from their food truck twice, but neither time was disappointing. The barbecue jackfruit is amazing so look out for that whenever Food Truck Fridays kicks up again! And don't worry, they have bottles of Sriracha.

Wow, was I pleasantly surprised. I am not a vegan, and stopped here to do something different. I recently relocated to St. Louis from Atlanta, and there is a place there called Loving Hut that I went to from time to time in Atlanta. Well this place is just as good!!! I had the Volcano Tots as a starter, and then had the Butternut Squash Enchiladas for the entree. They were both very good, and they have found a new regular in myself. It was so good, I kind of forgot I was actually eating healthy. I WILL be back for sure!!!!!
(5)Michael C.
I loved my food here!!! I got sweet potato tacos with kale. Such a unique place and the prices weren't bad either! The downside is that they cook everything in peanut oil.
(5)Mike M.
What a treasure! Folks here are really committed to vegan/vegetarian food. Try the homemade tater tots or Buddha bowl! We haven't had anything bad here! Nice new shady patio; great for people watching and al fresco dining. A wonderful addition to our 'hood!

A sweet little spot on South Grand, Lulu's is definitely going to be one of my new go-to lunch places. I'm a sucker for whimsical decor, and so my heart burst a little when I saw the flower-filled mason jars hanging from the walls. There's also a cute outdoor seating area for when the temperature is not 500 degrees. I ordered the sweet potato falafel which was delicious. The sweet potato balls are crispy on the outside and seasoned perfectly. It also comes with a tangy tzaziki sauce that goes well with the sweet potato. I paid extra for avocado which was definitely worth it. My friend got the buffalo blue burger with side of kale salad which were also really tasty. The burger packed a lot of flavor, and I wouldn't be surprised if it fooled a carnivore. I can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu.
(5)River K.
I like this place so much that I've taken the liberty of writing them a letter.. Here it goes. Ahem! Dear Lulu, Why am I in love with you? Is it the savory sweet potato black bean chipotle burger or maybe the buffalo cauliflower bites? No, maybe it's the beautifully seasoned sweet potato falafel and the perfectly organic fresh kale salad. Either way you are always on my mind and in my heart. Love Always, River
(5)Crystal D.
If I could, I would eat here daily. I've made it a mission to try everything on the menu and so far I've only found 1 dish that I wasn't satisfied with. My favorite find since moving to the city!
(5)Amrita R.
I've loved the food here since before they were a restaurant and just had a food truck. My fiance loves meat in all his food but never seems to notice that he hasn't had any when we eat here. The owners are super sweet and the space is wonderful, especially the outdoors. It's comfortable and relaxed, with pretty sparkly lights. I particularly love the sweet potato falafel but I tried the Buddha bowl recently and loved it too, although you should be warned that it's quite vinegar-y (right up my alley but not necessarily popular). It's great that have more than just boring salads that usually define vegan/vegetarian meals! You'll definitely feel better about yourself after eating here :)
(5)Andrea F.
Good place and good food. I love this place and will be back when I have a chance. I love the decorations and people. Can't find somewhere else.
(5)James S.
We've been here a few times. Each time the food has been pretty good. We really like having another vegetarian option in the neighborhood. Biggest gripe is the same sauce that's served on or with so many of their dishes. Not very flavorful. Take a clue from Lona's and offer several sauce choices and make sure they pack a punch. The concept is good. Staff are friendly. Just need to work on getting more flavorful sauce options.
(3)Tori W.
Loved it as a food truck and love it even more as a brick and mortar. Healthy food with so much flavor and all of the workers are very nice and helpful. Go to Lulu's!

I feel like I keep discovering little gems in St. Louis that I barely hear anyone talk about. And Lulu's is definitely one of them. Lulu's is setup with the popular trend of "fast casual" where you order at the counter and they bring you the meal. And they aren't kidding. We received our first entree in under 5 minutes of ordering. To preface, I'm a carnivore and could probably eat a steak everyday and be pretty happy. I was pretty impressed by how delicious all the food was and the last thing I was missing was meat. The Buffalo Cauliflower had all the tastes, textures and familiarity of a meat dish, but I think I enjoyed it more because it was so unique. I think Lulu's is a fun place that a lot of people would enjoy. And I'd love to hear their name mentioned more as one of St. Louis' best restaurants.

When you see 5 stars you immediately want a review that'll definitely support that rating. So won't bore you with subliminal content: 1. PUNCH CARD perks! 2. Location is convenient and easy to spot on the corner of S. Grand and Humphrey 3. Food fresh & cooked to order 4. Delicious vegan options even carnivores will love 5. Pleasant customer service Those are the top five reason LuLu's gets 5 stars across the board in my book. But I'll go on... -Portions are plentiful. -iPad on a swivel stand for expedited checkout. -Hippy spot, awesome music, clean restroom, good for groups or a casual date night. -Inviting space with plenty of sunshine and openness to people watch on S. Grand -Patio is large as well. Other coolness includes a few of my favorite dishes; Black Bean Burrito (I sub the brown rice for quinoa), the Buffalo Cauliflower (AMAZING! you'll never want buffalo wings again), General Tso Bowl. They have hard plastic cups for the general public but I ask for my H2O in the chilled mason jar with ice balls. You can also catch their Food Truck at one of the truck stop events.
(5)Christine C.
I'm not a big fan of vegetarian food. I definitely need and crave my meat. I've walked by this place numerous times and figured I would check it out today. I had to refer to my handy yelp app on some guidance on what to order. I opted for the sweet potato falafel and buffalo cauliflower. the sweet potato falafel was really great. it had a good balance of savory and freshness on the plate. they don't skimp out on their portions. the buffalo cauliflower was amazing. when you first taste it, it gives you a hard kick in the face but you want it again and again. I'll be back to try some other things on the menu.
(4)Lucy D.
The music was a tad loud for my taste. My mom and I went at 11:40 am so the restaurant was not very crowded. For being a vegan restaurant, Lulu's sure had lot of yummy choices on the menu that a meat loving girl like me could get behind. I had the chipotle black bean bowl. It was a little too spicy but delicious nonetheless; I particularly liked the sweet potato. This place seemed like an upscale, better version of Hot Pot smoothie shop, although with some of the same nuances like getting your own silverware, water, and putting your plate away.
(5)Denise K.
This is an amazing vegan restaurant and I'm not even a vegetarian! The price was very reasonable. The cauliflower bites were sooo good. I can't believe the dip was not dairy. We also had the Buddha bowl which had a nice peanuty sauce and tofu with noodles. We had the sandwich with imitation pork as well (forgot the name) but it had purple cabbage. We also enjoyed a nice beer with a touch of citrus from four hands. The staff was incredibly courteous. My only complaint is that it was SO hot in there. It would really be worth investing in some air conditioning given how brutal the summers are here and considering what a popular place it seems to be.
(5)Khang N.
Thai crunch kale salad is my all time favorite here. I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but the salad was so good. Friends got the sweet potato pretzel burger and another got the banh mi. Banh mi seemed messy, but was pretty good. The cauliflower bites are awesome.
